A History of Special Collections
From the Rare Books Virtual Lecture Series: For the curators, archivists, and librarians working in Special Collections Divisions across the state and the country, maintaining a historical record through the collection of manuscripts, multimedia, and printed forms is not only important to their work, but also necessary to their institutions. Despite all of this, we are often unaware of the need to maintain our own records for future use. A History of Special Collections is an exhibition that considers the archival history of the archives themselves, and demonstrates the importance of developing and maintaining such institutional knowledge. From the early antecedents in the Utah Room to the most contemporary iteration, this virtual lecture traces the trajectory and evolution of the Special Collections Division at the Marriott Library over the last seven decades. Join us in exploring the unique holdings from each of the departments. What’s revealed is a story of dedication, scholarship, and commitment to research and access.

Thank you so much for posting this.
So just more fluxus boxes
I have to be honest. Of all the books in HS that were required reading this one was the worst for me. I liked and understood Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, Brave New World, and all the others. But this one went over my head, it was just trash to me.
🧞 soooo if it Was not utube Nobody knew What French Hiding in the CAVES.‼️‼️
I was born during that. There were dudes fishing Washington Boulevard in Ogden that day. 🤠
Man unfortunately i believe this offer has reached a bit to far 😭unless its also apears in the uk in Liverpool 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I absolutely love the little guy on the buttons. Adorable!
Wow! Where has this guy been all my life. I am sending this link to e everyone I know.
God bless Richard Nixon!
The more I learn about Richard Nixon the more I’ve come to like him and realize that I have been lied to about him my whole life.
Named my cat after her.
choose life. stay away from evil peoples .
Utah Was a good friend on mine in the early 60's-70's in Saratoga Springs
Just amazing❤
Look, it’s spring. And last year’s loose dust has turned into this soft willingness. The wind-flowers have come up trembling, slowly the brackens are up-lifting their curvaceous and pale bodies. The thrushes have come home, none less than filled with mystery, sorrow, happiness, music, ambition. And I am walking out into all of this with nowhere to go and no task undertaken but to turn the pages of this beautiful world over and over, in the world of my mind. * * * Therefore, dark past, I’m about to do it. I’m about to forgive you for everything. “A Settlement” by Mary Oliver from What Do We Know, Poems and Prose Poems
Always my favorite
💕💕I love this for sure 😊 Happy Holidays!!!!😊💕🎁🎄😅⛄
Hey where is the video of JFK Croaking? SLC, Tribune wrote it up on a 20 years after his scared words of wisdom croak, croak, croak ,croak croak 20,000 times croak you needed to be a Mormon frog to understand it I walk up to the god like president threw a handful of Frog Cee Meeal-O in his face that agitated a frog to begin Croaking.😅
brilliant ! I love Carolyn Carlson, she is a genius choreographer!
In 1972 this book was taken away / banned while I was in 7th grade at of all places Ridgemount jr. High On Ridgemount Road , Minnetonka Mn.
Ryan was super sick that day
Yes !
This has got to be one of the fastest paced, highest scoring games of this era. They're really getting up and down the floor here. I thought the Utah big men really bothered Jerry Lucas. Surprising. Final verdict: unless you're last name is Abdul-Jabbar, the hook shot is just a terrible, terrible idea.
Thank you, it's so outrageous to ban this masterpiece out of reasons beyond my comprehension. Whitewashing American literature isn't helping to solve racial injustice. These 'slurs' are part of everyday life for some people, at least they are a part of American history. This book educates future generations about the extent and consequences of the widely accepted habits of societal injustice of former times. Banning it does a major disservice to the persistent problem of racial inequalities.
He had such a sense of humor. Loved him. May he rest in peace. ❤️❤️❤️
Very small memories of this day I was only 6 years old
This is so wicked. I remember this array when studying in coe. I think the feedback is super critical to allowing an individual to regain control through training. Combine this with feedback in machine learning to optimize electromechanical control of actuator motion combined with natural filtering and preplanned motions, the sky is not even the limit. I could see this tech being refined and used for other applications like exoskeleton suits, meta universe feedback (ready player one!).
I'm in a 12 step program. It works so well to finding all sorts of envolvement . Your side of the street and what your not responsible for. Humility and gratitude is one of the biggest take aways. 🙏 I have ultimate faith that my higher power now. I just do my best and leave the rest. Prayer and meditation is key to opening all gifts inside of us after we get rid of that attachment of others. Love and love more. ❤️
LUSKIN SAYS ....WE THINK WE HAVE FORGIVEN... WHEN WE HAVENT. FORGIVENESS IS ALL MY PART
@@michaelpatrick3113 forgive yourself and forget yourself. 🙏
❤❤❤
very nice
That was great
Still stands especially presently 2023. Why people dying?? War ? Bombs falling ? We got to know
Amazing talk. Thank you. Love how authentic you are. How down to earth. ❤
Great song, but mislabeled: UTAH PHILLIPS wrote it, not Andy McCluskey of OMD. OMD’s song came out in 1980, five years after Utah’s song of the same name. Can someone correct that?
thanks this helped in my holiday
Very gratified for finding Fred's talk here! He articulates the human dilemma so effectively and advocates for all of us to embrace our best selves with our current knowledge of neurobiology to lead happier and healthier lives. Kudos 💞
Wow, I’ve seen lots of pictures, but this is by far the oldest video I have seen of campus. Cool!

The pavilion was in such an isolated, out of the way area. Arsonists are criminals and criminals don't like to be seen when they do their dirty work. The town I live in has terrible overgrown vegetation. I worry about my town turning into something like this with all the heavy rainfall we had last winter and into the spring season.
I know before Earl kincaid jr was in a car wreck and a few months later passed away he had told me he thought I had my history at this location . My history teachers name was wheeler . 1986
I met Gen Paul Tibbets at a tribute dinner at The Proud Bird Restaurant near LAX. I gave him a copy of the Paul Fussell essay "Thank God for the Atom Bomb" which he had never seen.
Classic! Would have so fun back then but not quite born yet. I did not arrive until early 70’s working & living at the Rustler … and so glad I had those years at this very special place. In ‘78 worked at Alta Central … wonder what they did back then about avalanches?
Remember all those terrorist attacks on Germany by Jews? I member
These are fascinating
One of my heroes, i live beside lochness where he was sadly killed trying for the water speed record.
I signed in late. Sound was garbled. Now there is no sound.
We have made edits to the video to cut out the pre-show and the aired video clip. It should run as just the conversation portion now.
